The village

The Rayol-Canadel is a small village situated between Cavalaire and Le Lavandou, both towns are 10 minutes away by car. It is a very exclusive place, a little piece of paradise that the crowds of Saint Tropez have somehow forgotten. It is unspoiled by huge buildings and large hotels, there are no camping sites, and the beaches are much more cosy than the ones from the nearby towns.

A must: the visit
of the "Domaine du Rayol" :
This botanical garden is pure pleasure. Méditerranean
plants on 19 acres of national park, overlooking the sea: Huge eucalyptus,
gorgeous cactus, a bambou forest... An old waterwell near which the children
can play Tarzan on creeping trees. You will certainly enjoy visiting villas
from the turn of the century. They were owned by industrialists and now belong
to the Conservatoire du Littoral, a powerful governmental agency whose mission
is to preserve France's coastal treasures. You will walk along the cliffs
of the domain over the turquoise waters of the sea below.
